Bottle hunting on my river eventually lead me to my passion of URBAN Exploration and photographing abandoned buildings. Like an animal lover whose heart melts when they encounter a stray animal, my love of abandoned structures left in decay launches an inherent need to ressurrect, restore and share the beauty it once had. To show that beyond what we think we see (rot, filth, contamination and neglect) actually lies an entirely different story. You just have to be open to changing your perspective. Perhaps photography speaks so much louder than words which is why for the past 15 months when decompressing from my work on my film I began photographing all the thousands of abandoned houses in Southern Louisiana. What I discovered changed my life, enhanced my vision as an artist and the entire view I had of this world.
